For a while now, my wife has been receiving a monthly subscription of beauty products from a place called GlossyBox. It’s a pretty nifty idea where you receive a handful of luxury beauty items. The hope is that the customer will like some or all of the product and will then buy more from the manufacturer. As I mentioned, it’s a nice idea and she’s usually excited when it arrives in the mail.
So, imagine my curiosity when my Facebook feed showed me a tactical version called the TacPak. Per their website: “A TacPack is a gift box full of tactical gear that gets delivered to your door step every month. Each month you will receive a package through the mail with 3-7 pieces of new tactical & EDC gear inside…..”. I decided to throw caution to the wind and sign up, mainly to see if I could feel that same euphoria that my wife receives when her GlossyBox arrives.
Just a few weeks later, as I was with the WaGuns crew at SHOT Show 2017 in Las Vegas, my box arrived. My wife called me and let me know… The euphoria began. I was excited to come home and open my box.
As you can see, there was a selection of cool stuff in the box. The list they give you showed a overall “value” of $116.00, which I bought for $49.99.
** The Hex Mag shown was only included because it was a promo from Tactical Shit that was available when I subscribed, and not included in the “box value”. **
There are a few things in the box that mean little to me, like the LighterBro since I don’t smoke anymore. But those can easily be given away to friends / family or a member PIF on WaGuns. Some of the other items though, I am glad they are included. I can always use another knife, the bore-snake is always a welcome addition to a range bag and I am looking forward to trying out the grease.
So, is it WORTH the $50? Depends on how you value things. I was pretty happy with the contents, especially with the few items that I think I’ll actually use. I am planning on letting my subscription continue for a few more months to see how everything leverages out. Supposedly, the Feb. box will have the highest “value” yet. I can feel my euphoria building already.
